Building Update
As you can see, the construction project is looking like a building now! The Amish have completed phase one of the project, and preparations are being made to move forward with phase two.
More good news—we received the permit to dig the well on site!
Those who have been on the job site may have noticed the little combine sitting next to the standing bean field. We made an attempt to harvest the beans earlier this spring, but the stems must have been wet. The machine jammed up, and the harvest was interrupted. John Dronen is working on the combine to resolve the issue.
Thank you, for continuing to pray for the building project and the soybeans!
Germany Trip
There is still room on the Luther’s Germany trip! Those who have put their name on the list will be contacted by phone to obtain needed information for their trip insurance; they will also be given the due date for the down payment. If you haven’t heard about this transformational trip, peruse the last six newsletters for pictures and descriptions. Call the AMI office if you would like to come along: 269-362-7678.
Live Camera Being Installed on Site…Can You Guess Why?
If you guessed that a continually recording camera is being installed to spot some magnificent animal such as a mountain lion or nesting eagle, you are wrong, unfortunately. The eagle, at least, would be a fun addition to the AMI campus.
If you guessed that we are needing higher security for all the assets on the building site, you are wrong, thankfully. We haven’t had any trouble. And we are grateful for guardian angels who take care of such issues for us.
If you guessed that we want to see who is on the property, you are getting “warmer.” It has been such an encouragement to see the steady stream of prayer warriors, who drive by the building each day to see the progress and pray for the project and the workers. Thank you, prayer warriors, for your fervent intercession! But our supporters are not the people we are hoping to see via our camera.
The people we want to catch on camera are the ones who keep filling up our job-site dumpster with their trash!
AMI Publishing
Along with everything else going on, AMI is venturing into the field of publishing!
One of AMI’s co-founders, Daniel Bacchiocchi, is the son of the late Professor Samuele Bacchiocchi, author of multiple books, including three very well-researched treatises on the topic of the Sabbath.
Dr. Bacchiocchi’s books have been out of print for some time. With the recent interest in Sabbath-keeping and considering the times we are living in, it seemed prudent to make these books available again. They have been reprinted and are currently for sale on our website store:
https://store.ami365.org/store/ Net proceeds from the books go toward the mission of AMI.
Leave Your Mark
Anyone near enough to attend the Sabbath evening vespers, beginning at 7 o’clock on June 13, will be able to see inside the shell of the new building, sing a few songs, hear a word from Pr. Kelly, and write a Bible promise on the girts and posts.
There is another way to leave your mark on the first building site of the AMI campus. A pavement of engraved bricks will form the “patio” entryway to the Multipurpose Building/Event Center. Donors may donate one of these paver bricks (or two or three or more) and have them engraved with a few words–either with their name, in honor of someone else, or with a Bible promise. See the AMI Store on our website for how to make this donation.
https://store.ami365.org/
Seats may be donated as well. These will not be marked with names–we don’t want to encourage people to sit in the same place at every event! However, sponsoring a seat for anyone to sit in would help to outfit the AMI Event Center.
A brochure with larger sponsorship opportunities, such as an LED screen, is available upon request. Give Dan Hansen, the AMI Donor Ministry and Planned Giving Director, a call at: 989-745-3888.
Aug 20-22 AMI Campmeeting: Making History
You may have noticed the name change. With the delay in completion of the first building, we have decided to postpone the Grand Opening. However, we will not be postponing the event! It was growing into a campmeeting event anyway. Now that it will be held under tents (possibly an air-conditioned one!) it was decided to change the name from Grand Opening Event to the AMI Campmeeting!
The event is attracting registrations from as far away as British Columbia and Australia. Families from across the United States are finding their camping spots or hotels and registering for the children’s program. Exhibitors and musicians are asking if there are any more openings available. And others have volunteered to help at the event.
Here is a sampling of some of the ministries that have applied for an exhibitor’s booth:
- LIGHT Ministries (Lay Institute for Global Health Ministries)
- Revelation for Kids
- HunnyBee Farm Stand
- Turning the Hearts Ministries
- Heidi’s Health Kitchen
- The Story of Jesus Studies
- Archer’s Herbal
- The Great Controversy Game (teaches GC content in a game)
- Grace to Overcome
- Mattatouille Seasonings
- Project Steps to Christ
- Coming Together Ministries
- A Pattern (Lifestyle Center and Health Retreat)
- Freedom Gates Boys Ranch
- …plus 12 more exhibitors are registered as of now!
The event will have a pioneer spirit as well as a pioneering feel, featuring large tents and primitive facilities. We will be making history at the same time as we repeat the history of old-fashioned campmeeting revivals.
Registration, including volunteers, is currently at 600 with an expectation of around 1,000 on Sabbath. If you are planning to come, please read the registration page on our website.
https://ami365.org/event/ami-religious-liberty-celebration/ The event is free; but we need to prepare enough chairs and parking, so your registration is truly needed.
An email was sent two weeks ago allowing those already registered to update their attendance to include registration for the children’s program. If you would like to add children to your registration and didn’t receive the email, check your junk folder or contact the office: 269-362-7678.
A full schedule for the event, including presentation titles, will be posted to the website Friday. Look for the orange button on the home page or click on the link on the registration page.
Looking forward to having you with us Thursday through Sabbath, August 20-22!
