AMI Has Launched!
It seemed far-fetched, when we skirted the fields and tramped through the wooded area along a gurgling spring, that this 78-acre gem could be the home of our new ministry. The owner wasn’t planning to sell. We had yet to gather the necessary funds. We had nothing, except our desire to continue the ministry God had put in our hearts.
However, when the landowner, who is not of our denomination, heard our ministry plan and envisioned how the property would benefit so many people, he agreed to consider it. We prayed.
Financial projections determined that the only way we could afford the property would be for the owner to lower his price and offer a land contract. Even then, we would be limited to a particular down payment with particular monthly payments thereafter. This was not communicated to the landowner, of course. But the Owner of the whole Earth knew! The landowner came to us with an offer: he had dropped his price by $200,000 and requested a land contract with the exact particulars necessary for us to move forward. God is behind this!
Donations have arrived at a rate of about $100,000/month over the past three months. Some large donations had been pledged, but tax-deductible receipts could not be issued by AMI until our 501(c)(3) was granted. We learned that the governmental department which processes these applications is 8-9 months delayed. However, on September 4, a determination letter arrived with our 501(c)(3) approval, less than 3 months after it was applied for. Now all donations given to AMI are tax deductible, retroactive to the first day of our incorporation. On September 7, a $100,000 donation was received. Thank you, everyone, for your continued contributions.
Toni Minikus was hired on September 8 as an Administrative Coordinator. Toni joins us with a rich background in working with churches as a Bible worker, administrative assistant, and in church leadership. She will be available to answer your inquiries by phone (269-362-7678) and email (
[email protected]). Toni will work with both staff and volunteers to advance the mission of AMI. She will serve wherever needed, to alleviate the schedules of all other team members who currently volunteer their time. Additional team members will be added as funding allows.
As we witness the ministry gain momentum, it is evident that we need a building sooner rather than later—a simple, efficient, permanent structure that can be re-purposed as the ministries outgrow this space and new buildings can be constructed on the original campus plan sites. Lord willing, we will break ground for this multipurpose building mid-November. Plans will be revealed in an upcoming video on Pastor Kelly’s YouTube Channel (
https://www.youtube.com/@pastor-ronkelly). Stay tuned!
We thank our Heavenly Father for His clear leading and provision. From the announcement of the ministry on July 1st, to the signing of the purchase agreement on September 12th, we have seen unmistakable evidence of His favor. Advent Mission Institute has launched!
